Etsy has long been a sanctuary for independent creators, but recent shifts in their Seller Policy have sent shockwaves through the metaphysical community. Specifically, [https://www.etsy.com/shop/MakedaWordOfGod etsy.com] shops offering spell casting, tarot readings, [https://wikibuilding.org/index.php?title=The_Sacred_Art_Of_Written_Petition:_A_Comprehensive_Guide_To_Writing_Prayer_Requests_To_God wikibuilding.org] and [https://www.etsy.com/shop/MakedaWordOfGod etsy.com] energy healing are finding themselves under intense scrutiny, with many facing permanent suspension. Understanding these changes and taking proactive steps is essential for any spiritual practitioner operating on the platform.

Why Etsy is Targeting Metaphysical Shops

The core of the issue lies in Etsy’s updated policies regarding "Services" and "Prohibited Items." Etsy fundamentally defines itself as a marketplace for handmade goods, vintage items, and craft supplies. They have increasingly prohibited the sale of "non-tangible" services. Furthermore, Etsy’s policy on "Metaphysical Services" explicitly forbids the sale of outcomes—such as a spell that promises a specific financial gain or a psychic reading that claims to predict the future with certainty. Instead of "Money Drawing Spell," use "Curated Ritual Kit for Abundance." Avoid words like "cure," "heal," or "guaranteed." Frame your listings as "curios" or "entertainment purposes only" to mitigate risk.
Ensure Tangibility: Every listing must result in a physical or [https://www.etsy.com/shop/MakedaWordOfGod etsy.com] digital product. A tarot reading should be sold as a "Digital PDF Download" or [https://www.etsy.com/shop/MakedaWordOfGod etsy.com] a "Recorded Video File." If you are selling a ritual, focus on the physical components—candles, [https://www.etsy.com/shop/MakedaWordOfGod etsy.com] herbs, and instructions—rather than the "service" of casting.
Backup Your Data: Etsy can close a shop without warning. Regularly export your customer data, order history, and [https://www.etsy.com/shop/MakedaWordOfGod etsy.com] reviews. While you cannot export email addresses for marketing without consent, having a record of your business history is vital for administrative purposes.

What to Do Next: Moving Beyond Etsy

Relying solely on a third-party marketplace is a risk.
