Mark 16:17 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

'''Exercising Spiritual Authority as a Christian'''

For those of you who don't believe in the power of the word of God, you will view this article as a joke. But what if I told you that God's power was infinitely stronger than any machine gun, atomic bomb, knife, or musclebound attacker? What if I told you God's protection over you as a Christian will stop bullets at point blank range, stop knife attacks, stop demonic attacks, and nothing will hurt you, as long as you lean on the full strength of his word, and put on the full armor of God?

''' Real World Examples'''

I have real life examples of living as a Christian and taking hold of the authority we have as Christians (given to us by Jesus in Luke 10:19), and overcoming the evil one. Notice you will not need to go out and buy a gun, or work out at the gym, or carry a stun gun to achieve this. You simply must lean on the true word of God. My first example is Margy, who was car-jacked by a serial killer. The man put a gun to her and commanded her to drive. Why was she NOT afraid of this attacker, or afraid of losing her life? God showed her a scroll with Luke 10:19 on it, and gave her confidence, and she also heard Mark 16:17, and she overcome this encounter. She had the confidence to lay hands on this serial killer, drive the demons out of him with the word of God (despite him having a loaded gun pointed at her), and in the end - she ended up leading him to Jesus.

''' Example 2: Terry '''

The next example I have is Terry Mize, who was shot repeatedly by a hitchhiker, but the bullets did not hit Terry at point blank range, because Terry used the scripture of God against the hitchhiker. The hitchhiker thought he would scare Terry by being demanding with a gun, but Terry said "Fear I rebuke you in the name of Jesus", "Im a man of God, and I have authority over you in the name of Jesus, and You cant kill me". He exercised his authority as a Christian. When those bullets came out, they went into the ground.
